Good morning and thanks for the personal blog. Sorry that I don’t tweet, but praise should be longer than 140 characters. Love the show and just bought Gasping for Airtime audiobook in thanks (if that royalty is going to the ex-wife, let’s just say it’s going to your little boy, right?). I think most of your audience must be the “talk about SNL” or “do Walken!” or transplants from Real Housewives, etc…but I guarantee you I can’t be the only person who tuned in fresh from Smodcast Podcast network and said “Jay Mohr? You mean the guy from Jerry Maguire and Suicide Kings? He’s got a podcast? He’s a comedian?” Your audience is bigger than you think–and the podcast is bringing us all back together, after we in our 20s got jobs, got married, got divorced, had kids.

Screw the haters! I love Mike Catherwood’s quote that ‘if you start listening to the audience you risk sitting down next to them.’ If any of us had the guts, the experience or the ambition to walk to the last thirty feet we wouldn’t be posting on message boards but would be sitting down across from you in your garage.

I just wanted to say thanks for the free product. Mohr stories gets me through some unbelievable days at work. If you’re performing in the ATX any time in the future, I’ll be at your show guaranteed. Good luck.

I look forward to following the blog.

    Thanks.

The legend of Tom Cruise episode was amazing. Any chance you can get the big dog on the podcast?

I like the look of the new webpage. I am really enjoying the podcast – it is one of only two that I listen to weekly and download immediately upon availability. I see on your schedule that you plan to visit British Columbia in the spring. Is there any chance you will be booking dates in Toronto? I recently learned that you have Ralph Garmin coming on as a guest. He is one of the hosts of the only other podcast that I listen to weekly and download immediately. I look forward to your chat with him and discussions about the tremendous talent for impressions that you both have. Any chance you could ask him about his run as host on “The Joe Schmo Show”? Did he realize the Kristin Wiig was going to go on to such great success?

Hi Jay! Just got off the subway in tears from yesterday’s podcast with Gary Gulman. The insight and sensitivity displayed in your podcast is exceptional; when we as the audience hear that comics are often fractured souls trying to heal onstage by moving the energy around, it makes it all the more touching. Also you are a medicine man for us, your fans. There’s no off-season for life and we’re always taking shots, either little ones or huge body blows. Comedy makes the sport just a bit more bearable as we get back in the game (sorry for the sports metaphors).

Also, because I am woefully behind the times, you brought me Aisha Tyler and now I can’t imagine being without her and Archer! Thank you so much!

Any word on getting that security guard for Jacko you talked about on the Doug Benson episode to come on the podcast? That would be fascinating. Every guest you have had on so far has been dominant, but the only consistent variable in this equation has been you, so keep up the great work JJ.

MIchael’s body guard is named Clayton Tave. He also worked with Paul McCartney and is seen throughout the Madonna documentary. He will DEFINTELY be on. A very close family friend. Los Angeles’ first black detective and won a Super Bowl ring in the 60′s with the Steelers. An incredible life! jj

Great Podcast..never miss it…and to everyone out there….Every podcast starts with Jay telling us fans where he will be performing his stand up comedy, I lucked out and had a trip to Vegas planned the same time he was performing at Harras…you think hes funny on the podcast or filling in for Rome, you have no idea what funny is.. See JJ do his thing on stage!!! You will not be disappointed. Funniest stand up ever!!

Fan-fucking-tastic as usual! Love the show with Daryl Wright! Between you and Aisha (and every other comedian-podcaster interviewing each other) the exploration of the life and times of a working comedian is endlessly fascinating. The road, the solitude, the local weirdness–so much more pathos than any story of a band on the run, who at least have a manager, a bunch of girls to choose from and each other for company. You and your brethren are the only truth-tellers in the entertainment business, a landscape of liars, cheats and charlatans. Please come back to NYC!

Mark McGrath! Eeeeep!!! Many high-fives and “fucking awesomes!” Ever since I saw him wipe the floor with George Clinton and Weird Al Yankovic on Rock n’ Roll Jeopardy, I’ve always had a thing for the smartest man in the room. Henry Rollins occasionally mentions how dumb, juvenile and misogynistic many bands on the road behave (“all the bands you love, you wouldn’t like them half as much if you saw the stupid shit they drew and wrote on the green room walls.”) but I always thought Mark was better, sharper, smarter than the rest. Thank you!
How about Henry Thomas? I’d love to hear about the weirdness of being the kid in one of Spielberg’s biggest pictures and life after that. Please come back to NYC, Jay!
