I haven’t written in a while because I have been watching the World Cup. It seems to be the perfect sporting event for insomniacs. Where else can you sit up at 3:00 in the morning with a Hot Pocket and watch Japan versus Panama? I caught a little of France vs. Korea this afternoon. Six seconds in, France surrendered.

Do you think Germany has a bit of an image problem? Only on a German field would there be a giant, “Stop racism” banner painted. It is almost like they are trying to get us all to forget something.

Some of the countries in the World Cup are fun to watch. England has been my favorite so far (I picked them to win it all). That Beckham fellow sure knows how to kick a soccer ball. Now, if he could only learn to kick a few sandwiches down his wife’s throat.

I enjoyed watching the Ivory Coast the other day. Funny name for that team considering the only thing Ivory on the team is the goal post.
